Book Clubs For Young Readers

I read an interesting article in a magazine recently about book clubs for children and I think it is a great idea for young readers.
You can either set this one up for younger children who are starting to learn to read or for more developed readers. You can even create a craft or activity surrounding the featured book to foster more ideas from the book that may be of interest to the children.
To set this up you need a group of willing parents and children who can host and attend the club and rotate the host on a scheduled basis for ease and availability.
You then need to do a bit of research to choose a selection of books age appropriate that are easily available from the local library or bookstore and away you go. Books like The New York Times Parent's Guide To The Best Books for Children and Best Books For Kids Who (Think They) Hate To Read are good places to start.
Happy reading.
