Always Learning - November 2010

Whether you have a little or a lot...all depends on who you are comparing yourself to. Compared to my in-laws, we have little....compared to my family...we have a lot.

* It's interesting to see how differently we are treated depending on the company. Having more often doesn't mean we are treated better.

Following this line of thinking, compared to the homeless or those living in the projects that my children minister to, again we are wealthy....but set us next to the families on my sons football team and again, we are poor.

*How do you treat the people up or down on the scale?

Thanksgiving celebrated this Thursday in the US, invites us to be thankful for what we have -- our home, family, friends and possessions.

One way of expressing gratitude is to give back to the community. Don't limit this to just a holiday.

Help those who have less, or are in dire need, by organizing a community service project that addresses their needs. Warm clothes, food and friendship are areas where individuals and small groups can really make a difference.

Consider the following ideas;
Coat Drive
Food Drive
Make Fleece Scarves or Blankets

and more...
