B is for Bubble Wrap

Who doesn't get a silly grin on their face when popping bubble wrap? This clever invention is typically used to ship fragile packages....but my word of the day is also great for making fun art projects.
B is for Bubble Wrap
(This post is part of the A to Z blogging challenge, pick up a roll of bubble wrap at your local office supply store and enjoy! You might want to buy a little more than you need so you can get your popping fix out of your system first!
Bubble Wrap Candle Art
* Create textured candles that resemble beeswax candles with a few common supplies.
bubble wrap with small or medium air bubbles
newsprint or craft paper
wick
candle wax
dye
hot water
clean coffee can
cookie sheet
paring knife.
1. Melt the wax in the coffee can placed inside a pot of simmering water on the stove.
2. Add dye and scent if desired.
3. Lay a piece of bubble wrap on the cookie sheet bubble side up. Cut the bubble wrap slightly larger than the cookie sheet so the wax doesn't seep under the edges on to the cookie sheet.
4. Carefully pour the melted wax over the bubble wrap.
5. Flip the bubble wrap over when the wax is set but still pliable.
6. Peel the wrap away from the wax and then cut the wax sheet into rectangle shapes.
7. Press a wick near the edge of a rectangle and then tightly roll the wax around the wick until you have a cylinder taper candle.
Bea- U- ti- ful!
More fun with Bubble Wrap....you can make sea creatures, collages or nifty prints for school book covers or textured scrapbooking paper.

We have pondered bubble wrapping our horse, who seems to come in from the pasture with mysterious kicks and bites just before we must take him to a show ...
